Nestled in western Uganda, Kibale National Park is a verdant paradise protecting a corridor of moist evergreen rainforest. Spanning 766 square kilometers, the park’s diverse landscapes range in elevation from 1,100 to 1,600 meters. Notably, Kibale is one of the last remaining expanses to contain both lowland and montane forests, making it a haven for an incredible variety of flora and fauna.

Kibale National Park boasts the title of having the highest primate density in East Africa. Thirteen primate species call this park home, including chimpanzees, red colobus monkeys, and the rare L’Hoest’s monkey. Chimpanzee trekking is the park’s most popular activity, offering visitors an unforgettable opportunity to observe these close relatives in their natural habitat. Guided walks typically start at 8 am or 2 pm and last around three hours, with an excellent chance of encountering chimpanzees.
